About Real Everyday Living

On July 15th, 1989 Robert R. Williams the founder/  publisher

of Real Everyday Living was involved in an accidental near fatal car wreck, that left him severely paralyzed and confined to a wheelchair. While recuperating in his hospital bed Robert says that he met other youth suffering, unlike himself, from violent activities, gangs, drugs and other street crimes.  Taking stock he decided that he could make a difference and with no previous experience he began to speak to young people from all walks of life. He spoke beyond the dangers of drinking and driving but rather the importance of taking full advantage of everything that life has to offer. Bilingual in both English and Spanish he easily crossed racial and ethnic grounds as a tireless crusader.  Robert reached out to others from the disabled community and soon Real Everyday Living (motivational speakers) was born. He has since appeared countless times before the City Council of Houston, traveled to the Nation’s Capital and met with members of congress, received full page stories in the city’s news papers including multiple stories in the Houston Chronicle and channel 8 (PBS) did a full length story on his life and community service.  Having never painted before he took up painting using his teeth to hold the brush and creates amazing works of art that quickly sell. Robert has also been called upon to go undercover (FOX Channel 26) when complaints from the disabled community occasionally surface regarding potential violations of the Americans With Disabilities Act (some of which were filmed with hidden cameras for local television). He was twice nominated by television station Telemundo 47 as person of the year for community activism. Robert believes that the power of encouraging words can have a positive affect on today’s teens. Now his goal is to launch his own magazine and serve young people, thus recognizing and celebrating youth accomplishments.

I am really excited about the first upcoming issue. This can be a great solution to youth deviance(positive reinforcement); have them channel their energy to bettering their neighborhood. Reading uplifting literature can bring about an emmence amount of change.
